Every year at San Diego Comic Con, one of the biggest exclusive events is the Kings of Con party. Part of what the LA Times has called “Comic Con for the 1%,” the party is a who’s who of Hollywood VIPs and one of The Wrap’s “only 7 party invites that matter” at SDCC. Already three years deep and counting, the party is the brainchild of Latino Review’s Umberto Gonzalez and film producer Daniel Alter. Gonzalez, aka “El Mayembi” to the online fan and entertainment community, is infamous for his movie business scoops at Latino Review, which he helped co-found with the site’s editor in chief and COO-CEO Kellvin Chavez. I reported exclusively in February on the site’s purchase by former Chrysler CEO Robert Nardelli.
