Broadway Box Office 5/18: “The King And I” Hits $1 million, “Something Rotten” Close Behind

Lincoln Center’s Tony-nominated revival of The King And I hit a big milestone this week, grossing over $1 million for the first time since opening. Advance sales are strong enough that the production also announced its extension into an open run, and national tour is also in the works. Coming in very close behind it is Something Rotten. Given the new musical’s great word of mouth and strong advance sales, we can expect to see it pass the same threshold shortly.
